JAGUAR LAND ROVER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 RANGE ROVER VEHICLES FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 208, "OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION." THESE VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS) MAY EXPERIENCE AIRBAG WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATION ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL BE DISABLED WHEN THE AIRBAG WARNING LAMP IS ILLUMINATED AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING DISABLE (PAWD) LAMP IN THE OVERHEAD CONSOLE WILL ALSO ILLUMINATE.

DEALER WILL UPDATE THE VEHICLE'S RESTRAINTS CONTROL MODULE (RCM) WITH THE INTEGRATED DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEM (IDS) TOOL WITH SOFTWARE FROM DVD 118.5 PATCH 16 OR LATER. Additionally, unless included in "Zone A" above, Land Rover is recalling certain model year 2007-2008 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles, originally sold, or ever registered, in Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, or "Zone B." Vehicles not originally sold or ever registered in either Zones A or B are not subject to this safety recall. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front air bags, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
