VERMEER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010-2012 VERMEER R9X12T TRAILERS BECAUSE OF AN INADEQUATE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE SLACK ADJUSTER ARM AND THE TRAILER FRAME. AS SUCH, THE AXLE COULD CONTACT THE ARM, BENDING IT. OVERTIME, ONE OR MORE OF THE BRAKES COULD LOSE ITS BRAKING CAPACITY DUE TO THE BENT SLACK ADJUSTER ARM.

Vermeer is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 R9X12T drilling fluid reclaimer trailers manufactured from March 01, 2010, through August 03, 2012. Due to interference between the air brake hoses and the frame cross-member at the rear axle, the air brake hose may become pinched or be damaged, resulting in the loss of air pressure to the air brakes.

The air-brake booster valve was installed incorrectly, allowing the brake application time to exceed the permissable amount. Thus, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 121, "Air Brake Systems."

In the affected drilling fluid reclaimer trailers, the suspension pivot bolts could loosen causing axle separation.
