A rectangular tube in the upper mid-section of the aerial device may develop cracks and corrosion, possibly causing one of the tube walls to fail and the aerial device to become unsteady.

If no cracks or corrosion is found, the tube will receive a treatment to prevent rust corrosion. If cracks or corrosion is present, the upper mid section of the device will be replaced.
