If a cylinder is found to be of one of the suspect lots, it will be inspected for visible cracks. If cracks are found the unit should be removed from service immediately and the cylinder will be replaced. If no cracks are found, the unit will be scheduled for magnetic particle inspection of the cylinder lug within 60 days. All of these actions will be performed free of charge. The accessory lines may not prevent service brake line pressure loss due to failure or leakage in the accessory air system. Additionally, the air cushioned pintle hook may have been connected to the incorrect air lines. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
